主動防護系統(tǒng)是以鋼絲勾花和鋼絲繩網為主覆蓋包裹在所需防護的斜坡或巖石上，以限制坡面巖石土體的風化剝落以及巖體崩塌，或將落石運動控住于一定范圍內。
被動網防護系統(tǒng)主要是安裝在山腳下，山體崩裂后，起到緩沖，攔截山石的作用。
